Payment Action

Last updated

Payment Action is one of option for payment method settings, which is available for many payment gateways, such as Authorize.NetPaypal Payflow link, etc. This option defines how your customers credit cards will be charged.

This option has two values:

Authorize: payment gateway checks the credit card balance and, if it is enough for order's payment, it return positive response. In other case, it returns "fail". Customer will not be charged automatically, gateway just check the availability of money on the credit card. Store's owner should go to the payment gateways account and click special button. After that payment for the order will be charged from the customer's credit card.

- Sale: payment gateway checks the credit card balance and, if it is enough for order's payment, it charges the customer immediately and returns positive response. In other case, it returns "fail".

It is totally up to you to decide which payment gateway's behavior suits you most. Depending on the type of goods you sell, for example.
