PayPal Payments Advanced (Payflow Link) and PayPal Payments Pro Hosted
You can enable the PayPal methods that allow your customers to pay by credit card without leaving your site pages — PayPal Payflow Link, PayPal Payments Advanced, and PayPal Payments Pro Hosted.
Setting up PayPal Payments Advanced (Payflow Link)
PayPal Payments Advanced and PayPal Payflow Link are technically the same services but with different names. They both use the Payflow Link payment gateway to securely capture payment data.
The key difference is that PayPal Advanced method is available for the US and Canada merchants only and uses PayPal merchant account, while Payflow Link is available to merchants from more countries (the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK) and lets the merchant use a third-party merchant account provider.
To set up PayPal Payments Advanced (or Payflow Link) in your online store:
- Sign up for PayPal Advanced or Payflow Link.
- In your PayPal Manager account, select the Service Settings tab.
- Select Set Up.
- At the bottom of the page, under Security Options, set Enable Secure Token to Yes.
- Click Save Changes.
- DO NOT change any other values on this page or on the Customize page. Ecwid will pass these values on your behalf automatically.
- From your Ecwid admin, go to Payment.
- Scroll down to the Choose Payment Method dropdown.
- Select PayPal Payments Advanced or Payflow Link.
- Enter your PayPal Advanced or PayFlow Link account details:
- Click Save.
- Place a test order to make sure the payment option works correctly.
- After verifying that your account works fine during the test, log in to PayPal Manager, then click Activate Account.
- Return to your Ecwid admin and go to Payment.
- Click PayPal Payments Advanced-Settings, or Payflow Link-Settings.
- Disable the Send transactions to the test server option.
- Save the changes.
Setting up PayPal Payments Pro Hosted
PayPal Payments Pro Hosted is a way to accept credit cards or PayPal payments without redirecting your customers to PayPal and use your PayPal business account is your merchant account. It works for the merchants in the UK, Australia, and Italy.
To set up PayPal Payments Pro Hosted in your Ecwid store:
- Sign up for a PayPal Payments Pro account.
- From your Ecwid admin, go to Payment.
- Scroll down to the Choose Payment Method dropdown.
- Select PayPal Payments Pro Hosted.
- Enter your PayPal Pro Hosted email address:
- Click Save.
