While Ecwid protects your customers’ data using SSL sent via HTTPS, your website is a separate matter. Adding Ecwid to a website that doesn’t have an SSL certificate can cost sales from consumers who find your site unsafe.
To provide security throughout your customers’ experience with your brand, buy and install an SSL certificate for your site. This will show the secure "lock" icon in your customers' browsers and will run your entire site via HTTPS.
If you use the Instant Site with an Ecwid domain (like https://example.ecwid.com), you already have an SSL certificate by default.
