Changing fonts on your Instant Site
By default, your site has fonts of a template that you choose to set up your site with. You can change that by choosing different fonts.
You can choose default fonts that will be applied automatically to all new pages and sections, or set fonts for each section individually.
Set default fonts for your site
You can set global font settings for your Instant Site. In that case, you predefine what fonts your site have to use on all pages and sections. You can use the same font for titles and descriptions (such as paragraphs, buttons, and subtitles), or choose different fonts for titles and body text.
Going with global font settings saves you time and allows you to apply a consistent design across your website in a flash. Once you have set the default fonts for your site, you can still change fonts for individual elements.
Global font settings are applied only for the website, including store sections (a preview that shows your customers where to access the store on your site). Fonts will not be used in your actual store where customers browse for products as the storefront is considered an independent part of your site.
To set the default fonts for your Instant Site:
- From your Ecwid admin, go to Website → Edit Site.
- Click Settings at the top and then Fonts & Styles.
- To set default fonts for your Instant Site, choose the fonts in the Title font and Body text font dropdowns.
Global font settings are applied only to those elements that have the “Default” font chosen in the Design tab of the editor.
Set individual fonts for each section
When you want each section of your site to have unique fonts, you can apply individual fonts for each element. On the Design tab of each section, you can choose font type, size and style (bold or italic) as well as the text color.
To set individual fonts for each element of your Instant Site:
- From your Ecwid admin, go to Website → Edit Site.
- Сlick the section.
- Switch to the Design tab:
- Click Title to set up fonts for the section heading.
- Click Description to set up fonts for paragraphs, buttons, and subtitles.
- Click the Publish button in the top right corner of the editor to apply changes.
