Enabling and disabling products
Products in your online catalog have the Product Availability setting that controls their visibility for customers. You can hide a product in your store by simply turning off its availability. Disabling a product will hide it from your site and all connected sales channels, but it will remain in your catalog. This is useful for temporarily removing an item from your storefront without permanently deleting it. When you're ready to display the product again, toggle the availability back on.
You can enable or disable products individually or in bulk. Keep in mind that changing a product's visibility affects all of its variations; you cannot enable or disable specific variations individually.
Enabling and disabling a single product
You can change a product’s visibility on the Products page.
To disable or enable a single product:
- From your Ecwid admin, go to Catalog → Products.
- Find the product you want to hide or show. You can use the search bar at the top to quickly find a product.
- Under the product name, switch the toggle to enable or disable product:
- From your Ecwid iOS app, go to Products.
- Tap on the product that you want to update.
- In the Availability section, switch the toggle to enable or disable the product.
- From your Ecwid Android app, go to Products.
- Tap on the product that you want to update.
- In the Availability section, switch the toggle to enable or disable the product.
Changes are saved automatically.
Enabling and disabling products in bulk
You can change the visibility of multiple products in your store at once with the Mass Update tool. Mass product update is available from the desktop admin only.
To enable or disable products in bulk:
- From your Ecwid admin, go to Catalog → Products.
- Tick the products you want to update. You can tick the upper top checkbox to select all products at once:
- Click Mass Update:
- In the dropdown menu, select Enable or Disable, then Enable selected or Disable selected.
Changes are saved automatically.
