Changing web address of Ecwid Instant site
When you register an Ecwid account, you get a site with your store – Instant Site. It has a free domain, or URL, in the form of https://store123.company.site, where ‘123’ is the ID of your store.
The .company.site part is constant and will not change, but you can always change the store123 part with any name instead. For instance, you can use your store name — mysuperstore.company.site. That way it reflects your brand, and customers can open your online store by entering the URL you adjusted to their browser.
With Ecwid subdomain, you don’t have to pay a third-party for a domain. You also don’t have to purchase an SSL certificate as it’s included.
To change the Instant Site URL:
- From your Ecwid admin, go to Website → Domain.
- In the Site Address block, click Change Address.
- Type in your desired name in the Use our subdomain field:
- Click Save.
- From your Ecwid iOS app, go to Store → Storefront and Website.
- Find and edit the Website address field.
- Tap Done.
- From your Ecwid Android app, go to Store → Storefront & Website.
- Find and edit the Website address field.
- Tap the tick in the blue field to save the changes.
Why am I getting an error when trying to access my Instant Site?
The link to visit your storefront from the Ecwid admin uses the web address that you've specified as your store web address. Make sure that the right address of your Instant Site is entered in Settings → General in the Store's web address (URL) field.
If you don't recall your Instant Site address (for example, you've tried different subdomains during initial setup or haven't used your store for a while), you can find your Instant Site address in your Ecwid admin in Website → Domain → Site Address or in Overview → Instant Site → Manage Instant Site and update the web-address there if needed.
