Changing the wording in your Ecwid store

You can edit text on buttons, links, and text fields in your store. For example, you can rename the Featured products section to “Hot deals” or transform the “Add to bag” button into the “Add to cart” button. Use the Store Label Editor tool in your Ecwid admin to customize your store appearance.

Changing the default text

Using the Store Label Editor, you can easily replace the default text in your Ecwid store with your texts.

To change the wording in your storefront:

  1. From your Ecwid admin, go to Settings → Edit Store Labels.
  2. Click + Add Custom Label.
  3. In the search field, enter the default text you want to change. For example, Add to bag, On Sale, or Featured Products.
  4. Enter your custom text to the corresponding field. For example, I want this! instead of Add to bag. If you get more than one search result with the same wording, change both. That way, all your buttons with the same text will be updated:

  5. Changes are saved automatically. If you need to undo changes, click Revert next to the text field.

Now customers will see the button or any other interface element with your custom wording.

If you wish to update the name of the Order Comments section or the “Compare to” price name, use the built-in settings in Ecwid admin panel → Settings → Cart&Checkout tab.

Deleting wording in your storefront

Using the Store Label Editor, you can delete the default text from your store. You can always reverse changes and restore the default wording.

To hide the default wording in your storefront:

  1. From your Ecwid admin, go to Settings → Edit Store Labels.
  2. Find the label you don’t want to display in your store. For example, you want to hide the Share this product with your friends text on the product details pages. Type "Share this product with your friends" in the search bar.
  3. Delete the label value:

  4. The changes are saved automatically.

Now the text label will be invisible in all the storefronts.

To undo deleting, open the Store Label Editor and click Revert next to an empty field.

Changing wording in a multilingual store

If you offer your store in multiple languages and want to edit the default wording, you should edit it in each language. By default, the Store Label Editor is available in one language. To use the Store Label Editor in a multilingual mode, please contact us, and we will enable it for you.

After you get the Multilingual option in the Store Label Editor, pick the language from the drop-down and edit the text separately for each language.
