Connecting Ecwid with Lightspeed Retail POS X-Series (ex-Vend)

Connecting Ecwid with Lightspeed Retail X-Series point-of-sale solution (ex-Vend) allows you to sell your products both online and offline. Growing your business into a fully omni-channel brand boosts sales, ensures a consistent brand presence, and gives your clients a choice of engaging either in the internet or in your brick-and-mortar stores.

When you connect Ecwid with Lightspeed Retail, your catalog is synced between POS and online store. POS becomes the system of record, meaning that you should manage your product catalog, pricing and inventory information from Lightspeed Retail to ensure everything stays accurate and up-to-date. All product information is transferred between platforms, so that you can seamlessly accept orders from both online and in offline stores.

Connecting Ecwid with Lightspeed Retail

If you already have an Ecwid store and now want to go offline and start using Lightspeed Retail (X-Series) as your point of sale system, you will need to create a Lightspeed Retail account and authorize Ecwid’s app there. After that, you will be able to select products for upload.

To connect your Ecwid online store with Lightspeed Retail:

  1. From your Ecwid admin, go to Other Channels → POS (or Other Channels → Lightspeed Retail; in this case, proceed to step 3).
  2. Click Connect Lightspeed Retail:


    If you have other POS solutions enabled in your store, you need to disconnect them before connecting Lightspeed Retail.
  3. Click Go!
  4. On the opened page, choose Yes, connect my store to Lightspeed Retail if you have already created a new Lightspeed Retail account or No, create a new Lightspeed Retail account:


  5. If you chose No, create a new Lightspeed Retail account, follow the link to create an account on the Lightspeed Retail registration page, then go back to your Ecwid admin and click Done, connect my store to Lightspeed Retail.
    Note that you will need to switch to one of the Lightspeed Retail plans that support ecommerce after your trial period is over to be able to use the integration. Please check Lightspeed Retail (X-Series) Help Center to learn more about the configuration process.
  6. Sign in to your Lightspeed Retail account. You can link only one of your Lightspeed Retail registers to your Ecwid account.
  7. Click Connect:


Congratulations! Your Ecwid store is now connected with your new Lightspeed Retail account.

You can manage the integration from the Other Channels → Lightspeed Retail page in your store admin.

Next steps: Carefully check and define the synchronization settings before you select and sync the products that you want to sell offline with Lightspeed Retail. This includes choosing which information should be updated automatically, the applied tax, the Retail register that you want to be connected to your online store, and more.

Ecwid pricing and features for Lightspeed Retail integration

The subscription costs and available features depend on what plans you are using both in Lightspeed Retail and in Ecwid. The total price will consist of the cost of your plan in Ecwid plus the cost of your plan in Lightspeed Retail.

There are plan limitations on both sides for the integration to work.

In Lightspeed Retail, Ecwid Ecommerce integration is available on Pro and Enterprise or on Standard and Advanced plans depending on your country. Different plans have different features. Read Lightspeed Retail (X-Series) plan descriptions to compare the features →

In Ecwid, you need to be on a Business or Unlimited plan. Read Ecwid plan descriptions to compare the features →

Disconnecting Lightspeed Retail from Ecwid

You can disconnect Lightspeed Retail from Ecwid if you need. For example, you no longer run a brick-and-mortar store, or you decide to change your business field and stop selling online.

To disconnect Lightspeed Retail from Ecwid account:

  1. Log in to your Ecwid admin.
  2. From your Ecwid admin, go to Other Channels → Lightspeed Retail.
  3. Click on the arrow next to your store name.
  4. In the dropdown, choose Disconnect Lightspeed Retail:


Your Ecwid account will be disconnected from Lightspeed Retail. The products that you have previously uploaded from Lightspeed Retail will remain on your Ecwid inventory, but the updates will no longer sync. You can delete these products manually.

You can link your Ecwid store with your Lightspeed Retail account again in the future, but you will need to connect and set up the integration again from scratch.
