Connecting a payment method with shipping or delivery options

You can provide a better customer experience by connecting specific payment methods with shipping options in your store. Your customers will see only the payment methods you connected with certain shipping or delivery. That can be useful if you deliver yourself and want to receive cash payments directly from customers saving on online payment fees.

Connecting a payment method with a shipping method

To offer a payment method for certain shipping methods only:

  1. From your Ecwid admin, go to Payment.
  2. Select the method you want to set up and click Edit.
  3. Scroll down to Payment method availability based on shipping choice and click Limit availability by shipping method‍.
  4. Click Select Methods and check boxes for all the shipping methods you want this payment to be available to. Then click Select.
  5. Click Save.

When your customers choose a shipping method you picked, they will see a particular payment option you specified for it. For example, suppose you set up Cash-on-Delivery to be visible only for the Free delivery in Michigan and Self-pickup. In that case, it will be disabled for other shipping methods.

If you don’t specify the shipping method for payment, it will be available for all shipping and delivery methods in your store.

Disconnecting a payment method from shipping methods

You can undo adjustments you made for a particular payment method and make it available for all shipping methods.

To remove shipping limitations for a payment method:

  1. From your Ecwid admin, go to Payment.
  2. Select the payment method.
  3. Scroll down to Selected shipping methods.
  4. Hover mouse over the shipping method you want to remove and click the trash icon.
  5. Click Save.

Now the payment method will be available for all shipping methods in your store.
