Connecting Network Solutions domain to Ecwid Instant Site

You can connect a custom domain purchased from Network Solutions with your Ecwid Instant Site, so that customers can enter your unique URL in their browser and get right to your site.

Once connected, your Ecwid Instant site will open at your domain name, via secure HTTPS connection. You don’t need to separately purchase an SSL certificate as Ecwid provides free SSL for Instant Site users. Visit your Network Solutions account to manage all the domain settings and to pay for the domain name, or renew it.

Step 1. Setting up your domain in the Ecwid admin

To link your domain with your Ecwid Instant Site, you should first specify your custom domain name in your Ecwid admin.

To specify a domain name:

1. From your Ecwid admin, go to Website (or to Overview → Manage Instant Site).
2. In the Domain name and site address block, click Change Address.
3. In the pop-up window that you’ll see enter your custom domain in the Use your own domain name field (you should enter your root domain, i.e. without www part).
   Example:

4. Copy the IP address that will appear in the instructions below the “Use your own domain name field” — that maybe either 3.211.60.235, 23.23.44.201, or 34.193.83.23. You will need this IP later to set up the domain in the Network Solutions account:

Step 2. Setting up your domain in the Network Solutions account

To finish linking your Ecwid Instant Site with your domain, you should make changes in your domain settings and point the domain to your Ecwid site. For that, you need to add an A record and a CNAME record in your domain host account.

To point the domain to your Ecwid site:

1. Log into your Network Solutions account.
2. In the Products and Services tab click My Domain Names:

3. Click Change Where Domain Points.
4. Select Advanced DNS and click Continue:

5. Select the domain you would like to connect to your Instant Site and click Edit A Records.
6. Paste the IP address you have copied from your Ecwid admin under the Numeric IP column in any remaining empty row:

7. To make the Instant Site available at your custom domain, this must be the only '@' A Record for your domain. If you have other A Records in the DNS settings for this domain, please delete them by ticking them in the Delete column.
8. Click Continue and Save the changes.
9. To add a CNAME record click Edit CNAME Records in the Host Aliases (CNAME Records) section (you might have to scroll down):

8. Enter the Alias for your chosen subdomain — "www".
9. Select Other Host and enter your domain name in the empty field:

13. Click Continue and Save the changes.

You are good to go! Give the settings about 24 hours to come in effect, and your site will become available at your custom domain via a secure HTTPS connection.
