Updating or changing payment method for Ecwid services
You can add a new payment method or update the information for your existing card used for your Ecwid subscription at any time.
From the Billing and Plans page, you can manage your account subscription and payment method, as well as access charge details and download receipts.
We charge that same payment method for all subscriptions associated with a particular account, including Ecwid domains, shipping labels, and installed apps from the Ecwid App Market (except for connected apps, which have billing and permission settings that remain separate from the account). All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period using the same payment method associated with the account.
Updating your payment method in Ecwid
The payment method saved to your account is being used for existing subscriptions such as paid plans, domains, shipping labels, and paid apps. Any changes you make are automatically applied to the subscriptions connected to your payment method.
To update your payment method:
- From your Ecwid admin, go to My Profile → Billing and Plans.
- Under Сhange Payment Method, click on the card or PayPal account associated with your account.
- Select a new credit/debit card or PayPal account. Add your new payment details.
- Click Save.
When you upgrade via the Ecwid mobile app for iOS, the subscription is paid through your Apple ID.
Follow the instructions from the App Store Help Center to change, add, or remove your payment methods.
When you upgrade via the Ecwid mobile app for Android, the subscription is paid through your Google Play account.
Follow the instructions from the Google Play Help to add, remove, or edit your Google Play payment method.
Your new payment method will be used for all future charges. If you update your payment method before your next renewal date, we’ll use the updated billing information for the next payment.
If you don’t see the billing page in your Ecwid admin, that means that:
- You are logged in as a staff account, while only the Ecwid account owner can update the payment method. You should re-login Use the store admin credentials to gain access to billing info.
- You are a Lightspeed Retail POS (X-Series or R-Series) Retailer with Lightspeed eCom (E-Series) included in your subscription plan.
If you’ve paid for Ecwid through a partner service provider
If your Ecwid subscription was purchased via a partner service (like Wix, Square, Clover, etc.), the payment method must be updated directly on the partner platform where the subscription is managed.
For purchases made through Ecwid—such as domains, shipping labels, or apps from the Ecwid App Market (excluding connected apps, which have separate billing and permission.
Removing a payment method from your Ecwid account
You cannot remove a payment method from your account yourself without replacing it with a new one. However, we can assist you with this. To request the removal of billing information from your account, please contact us.
